Labor Day!

Labor Day is a time of transitions: from summer to fall, from athleticwear to back to school (for Moms too!), from too warm to too chilly, from ½ day Fridays to full time work and school. For many, Labor Day inspires mixed emotions; it is also your last chance to try out all the summer trends in one fun filled weekend.

Whether spending Labor Day weekend poolside, at the beach or at a sunset cocktail party, here are some suggestions to help you look your best.

Beach Ready - If you are fortunate to be heading to the beach all you need for daytime is a great cover up to throw over you bathing suit. Finish off the look with some snappy sandals.

Tip: Cover ups can be long or short. Just make sure you pack a lightweight cotton or linen that will dry quickly when wet. You might want to consider a long coverup that can transition to evening cocktails on the beach.

Casual Chic – A flowy dress can be dressed up or down and can be easy to pack and versatile piece if you are traveling. 

Tip: To complete the look, pair your dress with a rattan bag or tote bag and simple jewelry. If a day party is transitioning to an evening soiree switch out your flip flops with a heeled sandal.

Boating – There is nothing better than spending a sunny day on the open seas!  Depending on the function, practical clothing is probably best.  Shorts or mid-calf light pants and a tee that can be thrown over a bathing suit with a pair of sneakers will work every time. Make sure to have a fun switcheroo for the after party!

Tip: Make sures your shoes will not slide on a wet surface. Always throw a cozy sweater or sweatshirt with your other supplies.
